Shrine Heritage & History

A Legacy Rooted in Devotion

Located in the heart of Jhansi city, this grand palace-like sanctuary is dedicated to the worship of Lord Krishna. Estimated to have been built around 1780, the temple holds profound historical significance.

It was built by Sakku Bai, the mother-in-law of the legendary Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi. Historically, the temple served as the main center of faith for the royal family. Rani Laxmi Bai herself used to visit this sacred place along with her mother-in-law to offer prayers and seek divine blessings.

Even today, devotees come from far and wide to experience its divine aura. The temple continues to be lovingly preserved and maintained by traditional Marathi families, keeping its centuries-old heritage alive.

NAUKA VIHAR MAHOTSAV

Nauka Vihar Mahotsav is one of the most beautiful celebrations at Shri Murli Manohar Mandir. During this sacred festival, Shri Radha Krishna are seated on a beautifully decorated boat and lovingly taken around a specially prepared water pool inside the temple. Devotees gather to sing bhajans, perform kirtan and receive the divine blessings of the Lord. The temple is decorated with flowers, lights and devotional decorations, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere for everyone.
